What is Glowtox?
Botulinum toxin is delivered superficially into the skin, rather than into muscle, alongside a chemical peel or micro-channeling.
Glowtox pairs a resurfacing treatment with botulinum toxin delivered superficially into the skin rather than deep into muscle. At that depth the toxin refines pore appearance and surface texture and softens the finest lines, without producing the muscle relaxation of conventional treatment — so expression is unaffected. We offer it two ways: combined with a chemical peel, where the peel does the resurfacing, or with micro-channeling, where microneedling creates the channels through which the toxin and nourishing serums are infused. Both are single-appointment treatments aimed at overall quality of the skin rather than at any one line, and both suit an event in the calendar.
How is Glowtox different from regular Botox?
The product is the same; where it goes is not. Conventional neurotoxin treatment places the product into muscle to stop it contracting, which is what softens the lines that movement creates. Glowtox delivers it superficially, into the skin itself rather than the muscle beneath, in many small amounts across an area. At that depth it does not meaningfully affect expression — the intention is not to stop you moving your face. It acts instead on the skin: oil production, pore appearance and surface quality. Because it is paired with a peel or with micro-channeling in the same appointment, the result people notice is largely a skin-finish result. Anyone whose concern is a specific frown line or forehead line wants conventional neurotoxin placed into muscle, not this.
Who is Glowtox for?
It suits people whose complaint is about how their skin behaves rather than about lines: visible pores, shine through the day, an oily T-zone, or a general dullness they cannot get past with skincare. It appeals particularly to those who want a skin-quality result without their expression being altered, since it is not placed into muscle and is not intended to reduce movement. It is often chosen before an event, for the finish rather than for any structural change. It is not a treatment for volume loss, for established static lines, or for deep scarring, and it does not replace conventional neurotoxin for anyone whose actual concern is frown or forehead lines. Whether it is the right choice is a short conversation at consultation about what is actually bothering you.
What is the recovery from Glowtox?
Minimal, which is much of its appeal. Expect redness and warmth for a few hours to a day, more if a peel formed part of the treatment — in which case some light flaking over the following days is normal. Makeup is generally left off for the rest of the day so freshly treated skin is not disturbed, and sun protection matters afterwards as it does after any resurfacing. Because the product is placed superficially and in small amounts, the usual advice around neurotoxin still applies: stay upright for a few hours and do not rub the treated area. Skin-quality change develops over the following days rather than appearing at once. Your clinician will tell you when to expect it and whether repeat treatment is worthwhile for your skin.
